Mar. 2, 2021 Mr. Yunsik Hahn received the 2021 Outstanding Teaching Assistant (TA) award from the ECE Department at the Ohio-State-University. Yunsik was the TA for both our passive ECE 5017 and active ECE 5027 microwave labs. Prof. and Chair Hesham Elgamal announced the news in an email to the ECE faculty.
Special Issue
Jan. 22, 2021 Dr. Nicholas Miller of AFRL and Patrick Roblin organized a joint RWW/ARFTG workshop on Friday morning. About 30 persons attended the 4 hour workshop. The attendees were so engaged that the questions and answers period for the panel lasted 30 more minutes than planed.
Jan. 18-22, 2020 P. Roblin participated in ARFTG96 at RWW to give a lecture in the NIST/ARFT short-course and lead the NVNA users's forum.
Nov. 16 and 16 , 2020 Chenyu Liang and Hsiu-Chen Chang PhD defenses were held on-line. About 30 peoples attended from as far away as China, Sweeden, Portugal, Peru, Mexico, Boston, Boulder, Cedar Rapid as well as OSU. Both Chenyu and Hsiu-Chen passed with high praises from their committees for their achievements.
Jan. 27, 2020 Mr. Chenyu Liang presented a paper on "Optimal Two-Way Hybrid Doherty-Outphasing Power Amplifier," at PAWR/RWW in San Antonio.
Jan. 26-29, 2020 P. Roblin attended ARFTG94 at RWW in San Antonio from Jan. 26 to 29 to give a lecture in the NIST/ARFT short-course, co-chair a PAWR session and lead the NVNA users's forum.
Aug. 27, 2019 Mr. Chenyu Liang received the 2019 Outstanding Teaching Assistant (TA) award from the ECE Department at the Ohio-State-University. Jun. 7, 2019 Thaimi Niubo Aleman, and her co-authors Yunsik Hahn, Patrick Roblin, Jean-Pierre Teyssier, J. Apolinar Reynoso-Hernandez, Vanessa Chen, Siddharth Rajan presented a paper on ''Calibrated Digital Predistortion Using a Vector Network Analyzer as the Receiver,'' at ARFTG93 during the IMS 2019 Microwave week in Boston.

Apr. 8-9, 2019 Prof. Roblin gave an invited talk at WAMICON, Cocoa Beach, FL. The paper was untitled: Class-E PA Prototype Using An Embedding Model .
Jan. 21-23, 2018 Chenyu Liang of OSU presented a paper at RWW 2019 and participated with Prof. Roblin in the RWW "Demo Track" with the presentation of a GUI on "Automatic Algorithm for the Direct Design of Asymmetric Doherty Power Amplifiers," . As indicated by the displayed GUI timer, the PA is designed in 15 sec at the package reference planes and verified in a power seep in 31 sec using OSU nonlinear embedding device model.
Jan. 21-23, 2018 Prof. Roblin was the TPC Co-Chair (lead) at ARFTG92 in Orlando. He also gave a lecture at the NIST/ARFTG Short Course, lead the NVNA Users's Forum and participated in a RWS workshop on linearization.

September 2017 The Ohio-State University to aquire a second NVNA based on the Keysight PNAX. Equipment is acquired as part of a 2016-2017 ONR Durip grant submitted by Prof. Sertel and Roblin. Participating in the NVNA equipment acquisition, are Prof. Siddarth Rajan, Prof. Emre Ertin, Prof. Randy Moses, ESL and the ECE department.

Oct 1st-2nd, 2015, Prof. Roblin was invited to give a lecture at INMMIC, in Taormina Italy. The lecture was entitled: ``Transistor Characterization and Modeling and the Use of Embedding Device Models for Microwave Amplifier Design.''

May 21, 2015: Mr. Liu Ying, visiting scholar in our group, presented a paper on "Novel Multiband Linearization Technique for Closely-Spaced Dual-Band Signals of Wide Bandwidth" at IMS 2015.
May 18, 2015: Prof. Roblin organized with Dr. David Root, Keysight Technologies, a workshop at IMS-2015 in Phoenix, AZ, entitled "Direct Extraction of FET Circuit Models from Microwave and Baseband Large-Signal Measurements for Model-Based Microwave Power Amplifier Design" (web link) .
April 2015: New research project supported Rockwell Collins on a new way to design PAs.
Feb. 19 and 20, 2015: Prof. Roblin invited to participe in the grant review panel "Fond de Recherche du Québec," Québec City. Visited with Dr. Ke Wu, Polytechnique Institute of Montréal and gave a talk at ÉTS, Montréal.
Dec. 5, 2014: Prof. Roblin organized a workshop with Prof. Zoya Popovic on "High-Efficiency Microwave Power Amplifiers: Design and Characterization" at ARTFT84 in Boulder, Colorado and presented a workshop talk "Designing high efficiency Doherty and Chireix power amplifiers using an Embedding Device Model."
