Theory of microwave passive devices, transformers, couplers, filters
resonator, and circulators. Computer aided design of microwave
circuits. Microstrip realization and testing with a network analyzer.

ECE710 focuses on passive devices only (see
ECE723
for the design of active microwave circuits)

ECE710 includes a 1 credit laboratory where the students learn
to perform microwave measurement (S-parameters)
using a modern network analyser
and pursue a project in which they design
(with the help of the CAD tool
ADS),
fabricate and test a microwave circuit.
